I had to spray some General Finshes Enduro-Var water base poly. Not really poly as it is water based. After thining with about 15 percent water and a couple healthy squirts of General Finishes dry time extender I got the results I needed. A smooth flat top coat. After drying I used Micro-mesh sanding pads. 1500 to 12000 grit.I still need to get some 1 micron polish from Micro-mesh to get that extra eye popping mirror like finish.29 gal Harbor Freight commpressor 7.3 cfm at 40 psi and 5.9 at 9...

I had some issues getting it not to orange peel and solved that then bubbles. I tlaked to Tom at the factory and he was more than helpful. We discussed tempuarte, drying times, and the type and brand of spray gun. As my Iwata is about 10 years old it is not up to doing the water based products. It is a gravity fed gun and built in the days when oil based is all you could get. I have 4 tip sizes. 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 all of which do a fine job on oil based products. I was using this tool and had great results. Then came the cold weather and the table warped. I use it for edge planing for glue ups. I first make sure I have a straight edge then plane it for smoothness. In the warm weather it was just fine. Plane the edges and lay the boards flat and if you line up the grains just right it could be almost impossible to tell where the glue line is. Now I get a bow.
