Known Issue: Photo Uploading Bug

Our tech team is actively working on the issue which has preventing us from uploading images to the content areas of the site. You can still upload images directly into projects (the image viewer part) but not into the content area of projects, blogs, or forum discussion topics as this time.

We hope to have this fixed very quickly. In the meantime, you can still display images by using a 3rd party image hosting site and adding the URL to the “from the web” option for images.

Step 1

Upload your images to a 3rd party site for image hosting. I use Imgur, but there are many others. Once you do so, you will need to find the direct link to the image itself.

Step 2

When you want to add an image in the content area, click on the “img” button and then select “from the web”.

Step 3

Enter the direct link (URL) of the image and then click on “insert this image”. You will see a link with exclamation points added to your post. That is where your image will appear once you have finished and have clicked to finish the entry.

Your image will now be displayed!

Hey Cricket… Just in case you don’t already know, it’s not just a problem with uploading new images to the site, but also with images already uploaded (which get loaded to amazonaws). Here is an example image that was uploaded a few days ago and worked just fine until recently:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/vs-lumberjocks.com/o2xrrt0.jpg

Clicking on it will give the amazonaws “access disabled” error screen, so it appears that either the authentication stuff or access URL LJ is passing to Amazon got buggered up, Amazon changed something to hose up the works, or someone forgot to pay the monthly Amazon bill :)

Cheers,
Brad

Good news, Cricket. But, there’s something else. Tonight, I find that, when I try to open a link in another tab (that’s what I always do, so I can come right back), this is what I get:

Parameter ‘out’ is required.

I double-checked with the link in the above comment.

Please start a new thread on that in our site help section.

I have had that for a few weeks. Copy the link location and then open a tab and paste and go.
