Young Swedish woodworker on the way to become a Cabinet Journeyman.
As I don't have access to the school's large workshop any more so I now have time to work on my own workshop, I have a 50+ years old combination machine and a lot of hand tools at my disposal. I will start producing some wood things as soon as I finish renovating the old machine and get it up to safety standards.
I also collect wood samples for my Journeyman cabinet, a Xylotheque. This collection is a somewhat scientific collection and I love donations, at the time of writing I have 400+ species in my collection.
I will upload a sample every day, or at least every day I can in my series "Wood of the day"
Samples are always welcome, if you can be sure about the species, sizes are 8cm long, 5cm wide and 1cm thick (3" by 2" by 3/8"). Finished exact size is: 70 mm by 40 mm by 8 mm (2 3/4" by 1 9/16" by 5/16")
Anyone who wish to provide a sample will be named on the blog and on a note in the cabinet for Journeyman shows.
