I am 55 years old, hence my nickname Craig55. I have lived in Iowa all my life but would prefer to retire someday to northern Minnesota. I built and flew model airplanes and rockets when I was a kid. Later in life flew RC airplanes for about 10 years and had a blast. I especially liked to fly float planes at the lake. About 20 years ago I moved to a very rural part of Iowa and started woodworking. Just wasn't any place to fly model airplanes close by with all the trees on our property. My dad is the "real" woodworker in the family. He has done some fantastic work since he retired about 20 years ago. He mostly builds projects from Woodsmith magazine, which he sometimes modifies. I have over the years built a lesser number of projects usually from Woodsmith, some my wife even wants to have in our house.:) When I get a chance I will post them in the project area.

About 8 years ago I converted our garage (20' x 20') to my woodshop. Put a concrete floor, insulated walls and a 30,000 BTU heater in it. My wife was glad to get me out of the basement and it worked out really well for me too. So now my winters are spent in the woodshop and summers on the lake fishing ( my other hobby).
