Interesting and effective solution. I’m wondering however, if it would have been easier to keep the first mounting, with the addition of a stabilizer to lock the motor in place after moving the belt. Perhaps a wedge between the motor and headstock, or an adjustible arm of steel or wood fixed between the motor board and the base, ir even the wall.
