Straightening Craftsman cast iron wings - 13 replies
I’m finishing up fixing up my old Craftsman 113 and when I put the webbed cast iron wings on I noticed they are not as flat as the main table. They dip in the middle so that when I flush the front and back with the table, the middle of the wings dips about 1/16th. I can reduce that to 1/32 with clamps but was afraid I might cause a bow...

Looking for someone who know's bearings - 7 replies
I’m replacing the arbor bearings on a Craftsman 113.298843 table saw and having problems finding good ones. I bought some inexpensive ones from USABearingsandbelts.com, but though they are the right size, they have too much play in them (both radial and axial play). The ones I took out say NSK 6202DU on the seals and the inner race s...

Ridgid r4512 - 42 replies
Well, I took a chance and bought an R4512 today. Bought it home and unboxed it. It tested it before fully assembling. It has the problem where if the blade shifts t to one side by about 1/16” when I change the height of the blade. What are the chances of finding a good one? After all the driving to get it and the trouble of getting ...

Fate of the Ridgid R4512 - 13 replies
I was just speaking to someone at Home Depot corporate customer service who was looking up something about an R4512. In looking it up, he said something that made me think the saw wasn’t going to be restocked in any of the stores. Has anyone else heard anything that would make you think the R4512 is being dropped or replaced?

Help identifying Craftsman Table Saw model number - 37 replies
This saw is on Craigslist near me being offered for $150. However they said the model # / serial # plate is missing. My concern if I bought it would be finding parts since I wouldn’t have the model number. Anyone recognize this? Assuming it works well, does anyone have an opinion on its value?

Dewalt 618 router popping sound - 8 replies
I have a fairly new Dewalt 618 router that I’ve used for less than an hour all together over the past month. When using it yesterday, when bogging down it made a pop, pop, pop sound. I eased up on it and it seems to be working fine. Was that just it breaking in? Some strange artifact from the electronic speed control…. or do you...

Best way to build a mobile tool stand - 13 replies
I just picked up my first bandsaw ( a Ridgid BS1400 ) from craigslist, and its missing the base. I maybe overthinking this, but figured I’d hope to capitalize on someone else’s experience. What is the best way to build a mobile base? I figure I can either build a top and bottom square out of 2×4s and connect them with ver...

After doing a lot of researched for SCMS I decided to buy the Makia LS1016L last night. I am trying to figure out if the one I got has a problem with the Bevel “Latch Lever” as they call it in the manual, or if that is just poorly engineered. Basically, the latch is there to lock at indents if you pull it forward or allow any be...

Powermatic 63a Vega fence Question - 9 replies
Ok, so I’ve been looking to upgrade from a cheap little benchtop saw for a long time. As recommended by a lot of people on this forum, I waited for a good deal on Craigs List. I just brought home a Powermatic 63 Artisen. Its contractor saw not a cabinet saw, but its a hube improvement for me. I have some questions about the rip fence...
