Nut and bolt in boxwood
Here goes- i think this is in the right place- i’m new :-) hello folkshere is a series of photo’s showing how I made a nut and bolt in boxwood for my dad. first of I mounted the wood between centres in the centre holes left behind from the router lathe which my friend used to form the 6 side’s for me(a huge help thank you) here is my rough marking out of proportions here you can see the results of my hand sanding the blank- i used a wooden block, i started at 120 and went through to 600 by which point the boxwood was like glass. here i have made the basic cuts defining the nut and bolt shape here is the pith- will it cause me a problem? at this stage i...
