I was at the flea market today, looking for a couple tings in mind, and I found one that I was looking for.

no 6
A Stanly Baily No.6 w/ Sweetheart Blade.

This joins the others that I currently have:
all

Front to back:
Stanly Block Plane
Unknow “Made in the USA” from my uncle
Corrugated Side Craftsman Plane
Stanly Baily No. 6

I’ve a couple projects in mind to put the new aquisition to work on, so stay tuned.

Oh, nice score! Good sized plane there. Going from the cap on the unknown plane, I’d venture a guess that it was a Sears brand plane. Not sure the year they started calling their tools “Craftsman”, but I have one that has only the Sears name on it. The stencil on mine is on the lever cap but looks like it could easily get rubbed off by shavings if it were used a lot. Of course if it does its job, who cares what brand it is :)

I had to run out and see what the plane I just bought at a garage sail was. Mine is a Stanley Baily #5 and the other Stanley is a handyman. I havent used one since High school in the 50s and probably wont but they are neet to have around for looks if nothing else. The tool maker

Thanks all,

It needs to be cleaned up a little, but should be good.

wakez, Sweetheart is the mark on blade, a SW inside a heart below the Stanly name
