« Part 1: Off to a rough but beautiful start. Part 2 of The Blue and Green Spaceship series Part 3: Thats a nice pair of legs ya got there »

The lil bugger Crosby got me up at 2:30, which was expected. I just couldn’t fall back asleep. So I went to the garage and did about 3 hours of work on my Charles Brock Maloof inspired low back chair. It’s nice to know that the noise of the tools do not travel through to the house. Woohoo.

This was my first time beveling to any degree on a jointer. I kinda cut one of the boards shorter in width and had to make other boards a bit wider than what the plans called for. But in the end, I have a coopered seat roughed out to 20” wide and thats what the plans wanted. So I think I am still in the clear so far. There was a knick in the blade of my jointer right close to the fence, once I noticed it I moved the fence to pass over the knick. Then ran the board back through and by the time I had it square and smooth it was shorter in width :-(

Next step is the biscuits and carving the pomel. Gonna make a mock up out of 2×4s to get the biscuits correct.
