Holy cow…what a bunch of talent!!! Toooooooooo Muuuuchhh talent!!! This place is amazing and these posted projects are absolutely amazing.
I mean the coolest bunkbed with drawers in the stairs, beautiful boxes and buckets, artful tables and then…the 2×4 challenge table/piece of art, OMG!!!
So….I’m tooled up with a ShopSmith with bandsaw, Jet dust collector, Ryobi router table and gettin my belt/disk sander next. And then set-up my huge shop :) and try to cut and glue some lumber LMAO
Anyway, this place is so awesome and inspiring, luckily my sense of humor will keep me grounded as I come into this place and then stare at my shop-space trying to figure out what I’m going to work on.
On the serious side, I was figuring my ShopSmith and few other tools I have were enuff to get goin to work on some stuff like making an Adirondack Chair set and maybe a swing for the porch. Sound about right?
Thanx
Vlad

Welcome to LJs Vlad. If it’s any consolation, I sat on the LJs side lines for a long time. I would browse the site for hours looking at all the great things people were making. Then one day I did it, I became a LJ. Let me tell you it’s been great. The community of people here are wonderful. You will definately be challenged, inspired, and encouraged when it comes to your woodworking journey.

Those were my sentiments exactly as well. It is a great pool of talent on display and a great set of resources to act a sounding board.
Welcome aboard.

Welcome and enjoy, learn and create….after all, it’s not a competition or contest here…it is just about having fun, meeting and learning from other woodworkers who are also having fun with a similar interest…

Welcome to Lumber Jocks. You can do anything with a ShopSmith. You just have to think it through first. Good Luck.

Thanx every body for the welcome and encouragement. My uncle used to own a furniture factory in Brasil and he worked alot with Pau Brasil. I’m not sure what wood that is called here in the US but it was hard, beautiful natural coloring and all his furniture was handmade by 6 guys, 2 my cousins. Lots of chisel work and detail. So I have always respected and loved craftsmanship just never came around to trying it out for myself. I look forward to all the great ideas and learning this place has to offer.
Gene I’m near Fort Rucker, Alabama.
