Leather crafted woodworking tool accessories #5: Easier to build and ruggedized combination square holder

The first combination square holster took a bit of time to build. So, this morning I tried to simplify things by laminating 3 layers of 1/8” thick leather with a rear mounted belt loop. The central thick piece has a slot in it for the ruler and 45 degree tapers at the top for ease of insertion. 4 nice ccopper rivets secure the parts together. I could add stitching on the sides. I’d have to do this before riveting. The rivets have sinched copper washers and are peened over on the rear side. Seems to work well. Perhaps I should add the elastic pencil holder to one side with stitching to secure it in place. I use a sharp router plane to create a rebate for it. Any thoughts welcom...
