Yesterday while talking about snow, & added my carved moose antler project, it was brought up about me working with different kinds of material. I’ve also worked with steel.
I mentioned the department I worked for groomed snowmobile trails. The department allowed me to design, & fabricate a machine for smoothing, & packing trails. I built two of these machines. Here are some images of the machine.

PS: Wood is still my favorite material.

I can appreciate the steel work also, in my past I welded Boat trailers, Snowmobile Trailers, Utility Trailers then moved to another company and welded industrial converyors, packaging machines and automatic palletizers. Just like a nice wood joint, it’s hard to beat a good weld that you don’t have to grind.

Looks like your project wooks pretty good, I’m sure the snowmobilers are happy, at least the ones that don’t like having to dig thier sleds out of snow banks.

The State of MN has hundreds of miles of groomed trails in northern MN.
