The Best of Holiday Greetings, from Our House to Yours

Living in northern Minnesota all of our lives, snow gets to be something you miss when it’s not here.

It’s kind of nice to have pictures to remind you of what you’re missing, so we’d like to share a few with you.

We’re missing snow here this year as well, Dick. Last winter was great for us skiers – excellent conditions from the end of November till the early April. This year it’s totally different.. no snow so far. But I’m not missing it that much because I’m still rehabing my injured ankle after bad basketball injury seven weeks ago. Thanks for sharing nice photos. BTW. Are you Minnesota Wild fan?

We’re about 75 miles north of Lake Superior, & it doesn’t have ice on it yet, Freaky.

I’m a fan of anything Minnesota !!!

So what about Slovak line – Gaborik – Demitra – Radivojevic at the start of this season? Too bad they haven’t been playing together for more games.

I thought I’d mention, I planted the two Colorado Spruce in my front yard in 1969, when they were about 1 1/2 feet tall.

Martin,
They sound like they’re from ”Da Range”, maybe the coach will get smart someday.

What’s that white stuff all over your house, Dick? I live in the Central California Valley, I’ve never seen that stuff here. 3 times in the past 20 years I’ve seen these little flecks of white stuff fall from the sky, but it melts as soon as it hits the ground. And i was just about thinking that Winter is already over in this neck ’ the woods. Now we get one and a half months of rainy weather then its spring. Snow sounds like it sucks.

Obi,

Thank You Dick. I live about 30 miles north of Wisc. Dells and our Christmas was very brown. I needed to see that to insure that someone did have a beautiful and white Christmas. Very nice and again Thank You for your pictures. Jim

Thanks for sharing this with me, Dick.

I love snow, well snow in pictures. We get snow in Australia, but in the mountains where it’s supposed to be. I often wonder what on earth Aussies are thinking when they sing at Christmas time, “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas”. Other than the occasional freak hail storm, I realized that the only place Aussies enjoy a white Christmas was in their dreams. Our snow falls during winter; June,July, August.

It took this Canuck a few years to get my head around all of this.

Thanks for the reminder, Dick.

Acutally I lived in places where it snowed. Virginia City, Mt Shasta, Ca, I went skiing once. I wasn’t prepared for it, ended up soaked and frozen to the bone … even though I hated it, I found myself back at the ski shop looking at skies. I must have had frostbite on the brain.

Hi Dick;
Well I opened my big mouth yesterday on my blog when I mentioned that there was no snow yet around me. Should come as no surprise that by 9:00 am we under attack from falling snow. And then my wife and I thought we would take a trip to Concord, NH only to end up sitting for close to three hours on the interstate due to muti-car pile ups all around us. Thankful that we escaped all injury. We only got about three inches and it will soon melt, but then for Monday they are saying to expect sleet and freezing rain.

Had not put the plow on my plow truck till Friday afternoon and I was looking at the sky and just knew, now is the time to get that plow in place. So I’m preparing to go outside now and do winter clean up or snow removal. Ha! You just got to love this white stuff.

GODSPEED,
Frank
