I made a Teddy Bear like this for a Wood Magazine Toy Contest, a few years back. I made some more for my Grandkids. The one I made for the contest was Black Walnut.
The dimensions of my bear is 3 1/2” X 4” X 6 1/4”. I hollowed out the inside on the lathe, before carving, but it could be done with a Forstner bit. I purchased a musical coin slot from Cherry Tree that plays Teddy Bear Picnic when you drop a coin in. The one pictured doesn’t have the coin slot. These are carved from Basswood.
You may copy this if you wish.
Two Bears !
My Sweety just showed me a music box Teddy Bear I made for her, & I forgot all about it.
It plays the song, ”Teddy Bear Picnic”
