You may not know it, but my little wife, (”Bairbre”), that’s Irish for Barbara. She has a wee bit of Irish in her blood.

But I think her heart is 100% Irish. You all must have seen the, Click here> Irish Claddagh, I carved for her.

Now I’ve decided to make her a Shamrock shaped box, for this years St. Patrick’s day.

The finished dimensions are: 7 1/2” High x 7” Wide x 4 Deep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm taking a series of work in progress pictures to share with you.

Here's the pattern drawn on a piece of Silver maple, from our backyard tree.

All glued together, & getting ready to round off the corners on the router.

Isn’t there a warning about these things being habit forming written on the wood somewhere?

Nice box Dick.

I have been looking for a project for my bandsaw. I may have to try one of these.

Nice design, nice thought for Bairbre. This is going to be interesting to follow. Are there going to be drawers in this piece? In one of the photos you indicated that you were gluing the drawer section – it looks like it will have 3 compartments, not sliding drawers. Either way it is neat looking – Just trying to get a handle on it :-))

band saw boxes are the crack of the woodworker… I hope that your wood supply sustains you so that we don’t see you looking for chunks in dark allies late at night.

Nice idea. Looks to be quite a large piece – what are the dimensions?

Great design Dick. Another box outside of the box.

Nice idea Dick.

Band saw boxes offer a lot of options. They should keep you out of trouble for a while.

How u can think of such wonderful different design of a box? I was waiting for the finished product. And now I have seen it. It is great.
