I know I have fallen behind on blogs and post and all, but that is with everyone.
Jaun and I have a new addition to our family. A 2 year old 1/2 paint and 1/2 red sorrel horse. We have been giving him lots of love and attention since it was something he lacked. I am also finding that I need to spend much time with him in order for him to obey me and not to run me over. I have to become assertive which is something I am not.
Going to be interesting. I am trying to get myself back in the work shop to do cuttings, but with the weather being as hot as it has been, even the air conditioned shop is not cool enough.
I hope everyone is finding ways to stay cool, but yet keep up with their favorite hobby!!
Here is a link to view the new addition. His name is Little Man:

I love your “Little Man!” What a lot of work you took on though. Have you always wanted a horse? He is quite beautiful. Will you eventually be able to ride him and is that is full size? (Aren’t I “Miss 20 Questions’ today!)

I hope you have a lot of fun with him. He is lucky to have you as a parent! :)

Shelia, Little Man makes me feel great, and working with him not only gives him a workout, but myself as well. And I just found out last night from a “trainer” who we called to come in, that I have much more work to do with Little Man and more muscles to use. It is no wonder I have been so tired for the past week.
I found out that I need to quit feeding him his treats by hand and to be more assertive. Something that I am not. Always afraid to hurt something if I push back. Wish my luck on my quest! After all, a happy horse is a great horse!

I have had a couple horse’s , have rode in trail rides on the blue ridge mountains and rode in a Wagon train ride with Loretta lynn ( distane realtive Ive been told) and her husband .
Different trainers will tell you different things . the work will pay off in the end . Have fun your the boss not the horse.

You do have alot work ahead of you . Why do you need to quit feeding treats by hand ?
