This has absolutely nothing to do with woodworking, but by popular demand here are a few vacation photos. (Okay, I’m stretching the definition of “popular demand” a bit.)

Autumn, you know alligators are nothing out of the ordinary to Louisianians, but these were snapped in the Everglades. We had some time to kill between the time the ship docked and our flight left, so we booked a Ft. Lauderdale tour.

The bird photos were taken at a botanical garden called Flamingo Gardens, just outside of town. All the birds in the large aviary are rescues deemed incapable of surviving on their own in the wild. It’s a photographers paradise because the birds are quite used to people and you can easily approach them without the need for a telephoto lens.

Very nice! You make a handsome couple too. Did you get to sit on the Alligator and take a ride?

when you first announced a vacation ,
i was perplexed that someone would forgo the joy ,
to mess with sawdust ,cranky finishes , and too short boards .

however i see that the opportunity to spend time with a beautiful woman ,
in a tropical setting relaxed and worry free ,
could be one of the few things that could do that .

glad you both had a good time ,
and came back safely !

i tried to look at your power point ,
after it downloaded for 11 minutes in PDF ,
it wouldn’t open for me ?

welcome home .

Thanks for the slide show and sharing your vacation with us Charlie! Looks like a great time. Karol and I have been talking about taking a trip like this one. Maybe if I show her the pictures of your trip she will book us one.

Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks for sharing, I recognized a few places from my several trips to St. Marteen, looks cleaner now than when I was there. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

David, you can use Applies iWork to view M$ documents – or if you have google, you can use GoogleDocs to do the same thing (docs.google.com)

Welcome back. I’m going to have to wait for my girlfriend to get home to see the slide show. The few pics that you posted on this thread make it look like you had a good time. Hope you had a blast.
