Freud RTS5300 Router & Router Table Kit
Woodcraft has this combination on sale at a good price. I have assembled everything but have yet to use the router. I did turn it on and was impressed with the soft start feature. The plunge mechanism is smooth and works well. So far I’m impressed with the workmanship of the table and fence (nice and heavy) and everything fit together well. The installation instructions could easily be improved but I got through it without too much angst. However, I was missing parts. The flat...
Woodsmith Aluminum Box Joint Jig
I was fairly pleased with this product and give it a 3.5 rating. . It was somewhat difficult to use and with some minor changes could be greatly improved. The DVD instructions were pretty good once you watched it several times. I found it difficult to hold the boards in place when you have a lot of cuts to make. Some type of hold down fasterner would help but also would slow the process quite a bit. What you don’t realize when you buy the jig is that you might as well and go ahea...
JacPac CO2 Compressor - Very Good
Recently, I bought the JacPac CO2 portable compressor product and it sat in my shop for a couple of months before I used it. I like it a lot and will use it a lot… going forward. It is very handy when you have to do work outside a location where you have a compressor or one with no electricity. I took it to a house where I needed to finish up a small job. I took my Bostitch 15 gauge angle nailer and 18 gauge PC. I took the 18 guage because I thought it might not drive the 2 inch ...
Delta 50-760 1 1/2 HP Dust Collector - Not so Pleased
I see several satisified user with good reviews on this product. However it has a flaw that bugs me, and is not acceptable. I bought one new in December. The unit does a very good job with collection, is reasonably quiet and I’m happy with that. But new, right out of the box I found a problem. The rod that holds up the dust filter bag attaches to the top/side of the unit’s housing. The first time I moved the unit the rod hung on an over head beam and even though it wasnR...
Pusher System
Recently I played a three way game of catch with my table saw and a small piece of maple plywood. As a result I attempted to catch a 250 MPH plywood line drive with my right thigh. After ensuring my right leg was still attached to the rest of body I decided I needed a little more safety and purchased the GRR-RipperĀ® precision pusher system. It’s purpose is to serve as a virtual movable blade guard that you hold, rather than a blade guard that is affixed to the back of the table saw...
