Update – Yesterday (6/25/08) I called Woodcraft to check on the status of my SawStop Contractor model. Expected delivery date to the store of July 7. There was much confusion around my order which was a little disconcerting.
The conversation went from we don’t have an order from you, it’s mislabeled, you ordered only a set of cast iron wings, you returned an outfeed table, your order was marked as a “sale” and should have been marked “back ordered”, and ended with I need to research it and will call you back. I did get a call back and was assured everything was Ok. We will see….... hopefully on July 7. In the mean time I printed out the owners manual from the SawStop website and started reading up on it. I do have a question for my educated brethren. I read a lot about checking a new saw for level, true, etc., shouldn’t a new saw be within acceptable tolerance? Hopefully, my question doesn’t make any of you recoil in terror?
