I must say in not a big fan of plastic handle chisel, dont look to good to start with and really dont feel good
in my hands, but they do come cheap at yard sales, garage sales etc. Found out that if you stick the chisel in boiling water for a few minutes the handle slides right off very easily. This chisel was in bad shape but under a dollar so i turned a new handle, the patern that fits good in my hand, removed the plastic handle, fit the new birch
handle, reground a bevel had to take quite a bit off with the grinder but if i dont hit a nail or put a nick it will never see a grinder again just many touch up on the diamond stone to keep it nice and sharp.its got a lot of life
left for sure.

Thanks for the tip about the boiling water. I’ll have to keep it in mind for future restorations.

Nice tip.
And nice job.
Looks like it would be fun to use now.
