Hi! It’s been a little but since I’ve posted. Now that Phoenix, AZ isn’t so hot I can get back out in the shop comfortably more often. More time equals more projects. More projects means more experience. More experience (to me) means more creativity and more exploration.

So, cherry is on sale down at Woodworkers Source on the I17 frontage road between bell road and union hills. It’s about $5/bft so I bought about $50 worth; I’m tempted to go and buy more next week! I also picked through the “big birtha” cut off box and found some awesome pieces of walnut that are perfect to cut accents, feet handles and other little pieces I’ll need from.

I can’t wait to see how this box comes out. One of the pieces I picked out looks really awesome! I’m not even sure what would make it look the way it does. Either way I think it’s absolutely beautiful.

There is about 10 bft all together that I brought home. This is more than enough to do the boxes I wanted to do. I’m going to practice by making the boxes I plan out from the other board first. Here’s a picture! The cool one is on the right. Both are cherry.
