I'm 35 years old and just got into carpentry last year. Pine is the wood im working with as i learn. It's cheap and forgiving and wont burn out my blades as i learn. I drive truck for a living so alot of my work is the weekend warrior projects. Right now im making some knick knack shelves. I built a shelf for my kids school room as my wife home schools. All i got to say what i learned on that project is SQUARE. I tell my wife just to place it in the middle of a wall and not by any strieght edges haha! It's solid but just a tad bit lean to it. Well thats all i have to say about me thus far.
