Married happily (this time) 2 grown kids.
A plethora of dogs help keep me busy - and run my wife ragged. We have a red heeler, a blue heeler, a yellow lab, a border colie, and a shih-tzu. And if and when she relents I hope to add a mastiff- neopolitan or boerboel.
I've been a firefighter since 1974 as volunteer and paid since 1980. My wife's answer when I was asked how long I had left to work was "a couple of years - OR getting ticked off one more really good time." Does she know me well or what? I know in my heart this isn't a dress rehearsal and I learned after too much wasted time that my priorities haven't always been in their best order so I'm working on it.
I was blessed with a dad that did some woodworking - and encouraged me to learn. He passed in 1981. I can't remember the first thing I ever made but I have a tool box that I "helped" my dad make and "MY" version of a simliar (in theory) one made the same time.
My wife was taken an interest in woodworking. We recently got the shop going after almost 2 years of waiting for the last owners (family of course) to get their stuff out of it. Her interest has certainly fanned mine.

Wow – thanks all of you for the warm welcome. Appreciate it a lot.
From what I’ve seen this sure seems like a helpful site – I’ve scrounged through enough that really weren’t to know that this one seems to have quite an “edge” on the others- (pun intended!)
I’m learning so bear with me on the site and with wood.
