We thought about that, but the stability of a pendulum is based on the length, not the mass (moment of inertia is also based on m*L^2, so increasing the length would be much more effective). We made our pendulum as long as would fit in our luggage. With that being said, we may hang something below to dampen the swing a bit (kind of like a keel). Keep in mind, the more weight, the more wind we need. This is the first version, made just in time for the trip.
