214 posts in 966 days Location: Iowa, USA Though I do have a bit of stain in the cabinet, I rarely use it. My montra is, if you want a different color of wood, buy a different color of wood! Trying to make Red Oak look like Walnut is crazy. My start was when I was very small. My grandfather, Howard Ruble, owned and operated Ruble Clocks here in Iowa. He built grandfather clocks for many years and I grew up with the comfort-smell of Walnut dust in my nose! My style is somewhere Arts & Crafts with a healthy dose of contemporary art. Perhaps even a dash of Art Nouveau. Friends have suggested the term "Neo Craftsman".
