Many of you may have noticed I am not posting much any more. Well after 10 years retired I have gone back to work. I think it is only going to be part time but we will see

I have bought a small company AZ Carbide. They are a distributor of carbide cutting bits made for the woodturning community. The company is 7 years old and distributes product world wide. My intention is to grow the business and hand it off to one of the grandkids

Currently we sell typical carbide cutters like you would see on Easy Wood Tools. We also carry the shear cutters like those of Hunter tools. We have several styles of cutters that are currently being tested and may go into production. You will not find any of my cutters in any retail stores at this time. I am selling direct to the turners only and you will see a very large difference in prices .

I have worked for several years as a tool consultant and have gained great knowledge of tools cutter and the design of each and how they play together. As a professional turner I also have experience in the turning world as well as the design of cutters. My latest project was the AXE by Carter Products. This is the most involved I have been in the design and production of a product.

Yes we ship around the world. Currently shipping customers in S Africa, Uk, France, Germany, Canada, Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Austria and others

If you find a need for cutters look me up. http://azcarbide.com/ or visit the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AzCarbide

Yes I will get back to turning

Ron

Ronald, I see some posts in Apr and then in May which look OK.
Apart from turning tool inserts which seem to be the go, do you have helicial/spiral inserts for thicknessers?

Now to your AZ Carbide business, I see there are some very satisfied LJs supporting your venture so,

14mm x 14mm x 2 mm square edge counter sunk No 20 torx head screw fitting?

If so what is the price avdavailibility for say 100x units?, and would you send me a one off sample for comparison?

Service, price, and product from AZCarbide has been outstanding in the past, hope it continues to be. I once ordered inserts midnight on Friday and they shipped Saturday AM. Good company.

Yes I do have something like that. Take a look at the website link I have attached and see if this will work
http://azcarbide.com/product/square-carbide-insert-14mm/

I do know that I do not have a torx head that size. I can get them if you are interested. Send me a PM if the link will work . and we will get to a price

Congratulations on your new endeavor, Ron. I hope that it will be successful for you and may you always be happy in your work. I hope that you will be able to work it out so that is part time so you will be able to do your beautiful woodturnings. Best of wishes for your new endeavor.
