One of our handiest machines we have to work with here at Cal Urban Lumber is our Good Tek 25” dual planer, linked to below. This machine allows us to mill thousands of board feet in a day. Here is Bills review of our machine.
A. True production machine. The helical cutters produce a remarkably smooth finish and very quiet even when milling very hard species like acacia.
Q. What do you really like about this machine?
Q. What’s something you would change about this machine?
A. It would be nice to have an owners manual that was easier to read. “Something is lost in the translation”, as they say.
Q. How long does it take you to mill with this machine?
A. With one board at a time (keep in mind it is a twenty five inch so three or four six inch boards may be run simultaneously) I can plane about eight hundred linear feet an hour.
Q. Was it worth the investment?
A. I am quite satisfied with the machine at present, but only time will tell if it was worth the investment.
Don’t forget to keep entering for your chance to be in our Piece of the Week. Entries should go to Jessy@jfcConstruction.com with details about the piece, such as inspiration, stats etc.

You can pick one of those up for, what, $5-600? ;)
Sure would be nice to have one of those. It is fairly quiet as well from what I heard in the video.
