I have been a very bad boy, I let my shop get over cluttered and messy. I really haven’t been able to do a decent project in it for about 4 years. I decided that it was getting nice out and its time to get it cleaned up, besides there is so much work I need to do around the house that I need a good work space to make it happen.

Here is what it looked like at about lunch time when I started working.

Now after about 5 hours of cleaning, throwing crap away, and organizing I now have a little room to work.

It is far from where I want it to be, but now I have someplace to start. I need to go through all my tools and take inventory and organize them. I also need to go through all my other supplies to make sure they are still usable and if not get rid of them.

That’s it for today, time to take a rest and read some more past projects on this site. Tomorrow is another day.

Wanted to see what a messy shop was like so I could see if mine was messy enough to clean.
I too hold on to too much stuff. Will have to clean up soon my shop will be turning into a baby shower guest area in a few weeks.
Good luck with the organization.

Cleaning up and organizing a cluttered shop seems like an overwhelming task before you get started…but you did a good job. It is like creating a nice woodworking project…one step at a time…!
