« Part 1: The inspiration and the plan Part 2 of First Order Toolcart series no next part

So before I begin any more building of fixtures and/or parts I generated a list of items I want to be available at all times. This is just a quick update and the starting point of all my necessities.

- Drill bits
-Driver Bits – PH,Straight,Star, Square (Magnetic dish inset from HF)
-Drill and Impact Driver
-Most commonly used hardware for current project (modular component)
-6” Clamps
-12” Clamps
-24” Clamps
-measuring tools – Comb. Square, Eng. Square, Steel rule)
-Sand paper and Orb. Sander
-Trim router w/ flush trim & roundover bits
-Bench cookies
-Flush trim saw
-Safety glass, resp., ear protection
-Air nailers & Stapler
-Nails and Staples for air tools
-Air tool oil
-Pocket hole jig?

With this as a starting point I will generate a rough sketch prior to building. I would normally use sketchup but this is not a structured build and It is not worth the extra effort. Maybe when I have a finished product I will reverse generate a model in sketchup as an opportunity to work with bezier curves and the component warehouse in sketchup.

Thanks for checking back and hopefully I can begin the construction this weekend.

Start making bins. These are 8×8 cubes and all the drawers are interchangeable as far as possible. By using different shaped puls i don’t normally need to hunt to find things.

Once that was done I added a wide drawer and a roll cart base.

This is kept just to the right of the saw and most everything is within reach.

You should put wheels & lower shelves under your tools for additional storage.
