I was messing around on the scroll saw after watching some of Steve Good’s videos on YouTube. I used Walnut and Cuban Mahogany I had. Thinking they’ll make some nice stocking stuffers.

My second and third attempts at bandsaw boxes. I used a piece of Box Elder and a piece of Paulownia Royal Empress. It’s good to have friends in your town’s Shade Tree Division!

Got such a positive response from friends about my “Carpenter Ant”, I stuck with the bug theme again.

Turned a “Carpenter Ant” today. Started out making a Snowman, but had a split on the edge that took it out of round, so I “modified” it! (Cherry and copper) 6” long.

Turned some Box Elder a friend in the Shade Tree Division of the town I work in got me. 10” in diameter. A little deep for a platter, too thick a lip for a bowl…...a Blatter??

Made a clock as a Christmas gift out of some old pine I had laying around.

My daughter wanted a place to store he earings. Figured she would get a kick out of a little heart-shaped box…..she did. Although apparently she had more earings than I thought. I expect a larger box in the very near future!

Still putting that osage orange to use. The density of the wood made for a great mallet.

First attempt at an open segmented bowl. Used cherry and mahogony.

Used oak and Cuban mahogony. Diameter is 10”.

Added some copper wire as an inlay. Thought it went well with the colors.

This was my first attempt at turning a bottlestopper so I kept the design fairly basic.

Bottlestopper turned from Pau Rosa wood.

Aunt and Uncle allow my family to use their cabin at the lake during the summer. They won’t except any money, so I made this for them.

Attempted to turn a wooden spoon out of some scrap osage orange…......ended up like more of a ladle! Have to trim off a little more of the bottom on the next attempt.

Wife got tired of looking at the old cast iron steam radiators so I ended up making (3) custom covers from MDF.

A friend of mine who, works in the township’s Shadetree Division, saves me any logs he runs across during his work day that he thinks I could work with. He is really into owls, so I carved this out of some osage orange he got me.
