I downloaded Sketchup 8 yesterday and got a nice virus to go with it. I guess you get what you pay for when it’s a free version.
I’m still trying to get this damn bug out of my computer!!
Happy Friday everyone!!!!!!!!!!

Bill,

What site did you download it from? I’ve downloaded it several time from Trimble’s new site and haven’t had any problems with viruses. On the other hand, a lot of these “free download” sites that show up during Google searches are really Trojan sites set up to distribute malware…

Good Luck getting rid of the virus.

I don’t recall the name of the site. The program its cool! I am used to adobe Illustrator so this will take some getting used to. But all in all it looks easy to use.

Yeah, Sketchup 8 is not being distributed any more, so those sites that still have it most likely are just hooks for viruses. You should try the Trimble free version, the 8 day period for the Pro version is a PITA, but once that is finish you get the same as SU8 basically.

Scan before you load it to your puter. Save it to your desktop, scan with your virus protection, then install.

I recommend a good anti virus program.

It seams to be ok now. I have anti-virus software always running. The only thing I have left is a VAF tool bar on my browser that I can’t get rid of.
