So I was working in my shop one day and along comes one of my neighbors. He says that he’s seen me doing some work and asks me if I am interested in some old wood he is clearing out of a storage unit. I say sure, bring it by and I’ll find something to do with it. So he comes by a couple of days later with a truck load of old birch plywood and melamine.. and old table… misc bits and pieces of what was a woodshop one day. I was thrilled to have some more material to work with… then he tells me that he’s found some more stuff in the unit that he needs to get rid of… sure enough I tell him to bring it by. My garage is getting kinda full at this point but I decided what the hell… bring it.

A couple of days later he shows up with more plywood… milk crates with misc drawer slides and hardware… bundles of moldings… all kinds of stuff! Here is the kicker… along with all this stuff is a box of old moulding planes… check this out…

Anyway, I have had a good chance to really to examine them. I hope that with a little TLC I can use some of them. Anyway thought I’d share… I have a couple more items that need restoration that came out of this… including an old band saw. I will keep you posted!

Looks like a lifetime of restoration projects. Great gift.

@Widdle – That’s San Francisco in the background. I was at the other end of the Golden Gate Bridge in the picture.

Thanks everyone for the comments!
