no previous part Part 1 of Garden Avenue series no next part

This is a real-time blog, that is I am blogging as I am working on the project. As it is my own design I respectfully request that anyone wishing to copy it waits until I have posted the finished project.

The first project I ever posted on LJ’s was for a set of four boxes made for myself and three friends to commemorate the 30 th anniversary of a house share, the Garden Avenue boxes.
There was also a blog showing how I made the pattern. Like most of the ‘top only’ patterns of my early boxes I have subsequently wondered (after developing the EZ Mitre technique) what they would look like in 3D, with the pattern all over the box. Well, today, I looked into one of my spare pattern bits boxes for some reason.

After discovering these old spares it didn’t take long to figure out how to re-arrange them into an EZ Mitre board

I glued this to a 4 mm piece of Birch ply and I’m waiting for it to dry. More later

Be seeing you.

Very cool! :) It’s nice to find forgotten treasures such as that. Another good argument for NOT throwing out any small pieces that are left over from a project.

I look forward to the next step a great deal.

Love your blogs and can hardly wait to see what treasure comes out of this.

Wow. Scrolling up and down makes those patterns do weird things to my brain.

And here I thought I was the only one to have a box marked “More Bits Various” :)
