Well I’d done some work stripping down the box to make re-covering it a little easier

and started planning which new pieces we’d need

this key board cover to be copied in veneered 3mm Birch ply.
I have made a TurboCAD 3D model of the Accordion

to help with visualising different wood veneer/ banding finishes. I don’t use Sketchup, I’ve nothing against it, having thoroughly learnt one CAD package I don’t see why I should have to start from scratch again.
Anyway today, Tommy announced that, as he has a new baby about to be born, he unfortunately has to cancel the project. I was looking forward to this one. Veneering on curves, other new things but family comes first. Good luck Tommy, Lindsay and the new baby..
Oh well. I’ve got plenty of other things to get on with.
Be seeing you

Martyn, life can be messy that way! Prayers are sent out your way for a very healthy baby for Tommy and Lindsay.

Martyn,
I support you on this endeavour… It will be a lot of patience to finish it. The only difference in what you been doing is the design aspect which in this refub will be no option but to fit yourself in. However, twists will never be known… Goodluck to Tommy and Lindsay. As you say… a lot out there to be done.
Just to let you be inspired. I am designing another veneering work in 4 points of perspective intersections…

here is how it looks as of now…
The upper and lower portion is done but I could not make a perfect co-relation to left and right portion…
Cheers,

Sorry you don’t get to finish this Martyn. It looked like a lot of fun.
But…. one door closes….. another opens.
I’m sure the new ideas that this project has spawned in your mind will not just go away. They will morph and develop and soon enough show up here.
Just my guess.
