« Part 1: An Opportunity presents itself Part 2 of Exhibition series Part 3: Pictures of an Exhibition »

Hello all. The time has finally come around for my ‘Mini-Exhibition’ at the local museum. As most of my work is relatively small the size of the display case I was to be exhibiting in, 40” x 26” x 9”, was not at all constricting.

Then last Friday comes a frantic phone call from Jenny, the administrator. It appears the other exhibition that is running concurrently, about canal restoration, turned up with some unexpected and very rusty ironwork. Not the sort of thing you want exposed in a museum. This meant my case had to be used. ‘Oh dear’ I said.

Jenny is a good friend and she felt she couldn’t let me down so, without telling me, she cleared out part of the silver collection and put it in storage so that I could continue to have a space. What a gem she is. I went around, today to start putting things together. I will finish, tomorrow when I’ll post some pics.

So the show will go on.

Awesome! That was very kind of her. :) Will we get to see the display in action?

Steve, no I need the wall for inspiration and to remind me to make more boxes.
I’m afraid I’m getting addicted to cutting boards and boxes are the only way to ween myself off them.
I couldn’t go cold turkey! lol

Congratulations, Martyn! This is a great well-deserved honour for you! I can’t wait to see the pictures of your work on display. It is wonderful and it is quite appropriate for others to see in this setting. Wonderful work!

Martyn, I am looking forward to seeing the pictures! If it weren’t for your friendship with Jenny, I’d suggest calling your exhibition “restricted space” you could associate it with the smaller sizes of the pieces your are displaying. That is just me being evil. LOL! ;-)
