Air Filter
One of the downsides to a small attic shop is the crazy amount of dust in the air. I have some windows I can open while it is nice out, but even that only has a limited effect. After browsing the internet I decided it was time to make an air cleaner. I did not want to make a major investment in a fan, and the typical box fan was just not powerful enough in my opinion.
We use a Lasko Wind machine in the living room and bedroom and these fans are GREAT!! I happened to catch an end of the season sale at my local big box store and nabbed up two for $15 (down from the $45 I paid for the bedroom unit), 1 for the living room and 1 for the shop.
Being a "shop" project I am all about function over form and in this case, it really shows, HAHAAHAHA.
After about 4 design changes though I came up with a version I like and gave it a good run last evening while making a few things. This thing works great. While I know I need to get the big stuff up with the shop vac and a good old-fashioned sweeping, this thing really pulls all the fine particles out of the air. It does not hurt that it creates a lot of much-needed air movement at the same time!!!
Over time I will either share my existing shop projects or just ost about new ones as I make them.
