Hi folks!
One of my boys is really into military type stuff (read anything camoflauge and survival/self sufficiency oriented). He is a 9 year old boy, what can I say? ;)
Anyway, he has a birthday coming up and he has requested many such items as described above. What I wanted to do was make him a small chest to be able to store his “boy” items in. I decided to make this box for him and we will wrap his presents and place them inside the “ammo box”. He will recieve the box containing his gifts on his birthday.
Our tradition for birthdays has been to decorate the dining room with balloons and to place their gifts on the center of the table for them to view and get excited over until it’s time to open them. I think that this will be a good way to torture him some, in a fun way, on his special day! :)
Here is a video of the making of this birthday “ammo case”. I hope that you enjoy watching!
EDIT: I’m not sure why is isn’t working since it’s from youtube. Try this link instead. Thank you.

I’m sorry, I have not watched the video. However, if you have not finished it yet, think olive drab; the box, while not the correct size, is at least by appearance, close to a scale miniature for a military footlocker. It does look nice though. Wish my folks had had a sense of the “hand-made” during my young years. Lucky young man!
