Wow, I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I packed up and moved my house and my shop from Denver to Virginia. And it seems longer still since I’ve spent any real quality time here on LJ!
Mostly, I guess that’s because my shop is still sitting in boxes in my smaller garage here in the hinterlands of Culpeper county. And since I still can’t fit a car in the garage under the best possible conditions it’s a safe bet I’m not doing any woodworking in there either. We bought the place in July and unpacking the garage hasn’t been a priority yet.
But I do have a bit of fun to report. After years of prodding by SWMBO, I have decided to take the plunge and turn something I did out of wood to the next stage—I’m going to be staging a Kickstarter campaign this spring or summer and trying to turn it into an actual working product. It won’t be wooden, it’ll be injection-molded plastic, but since the genesis of the product occurred in my woodshop, I felt drawn back to LJ and I wanted to at least mention it here.
When that campaign occurs, I’d like to provide a link here but don’t want to offend any of the commercialism rules so will take any advice you all have and will spend some time studying the rules again. Meanwhile, keep your fingers crossed that we’ll have an early spring, and that I’ll find time to start unpacking & sorting out my tools and my space again soon. I feel the need to plane something….
