I am not one talk to about myself at length but I do feel a desire to share my work with others. As a teacher I have a direct way to show off my expertise, what little I may have, and pass it on as a learning experience. I hope through this blog I can inspire or make people think about new things.
I’ll start by including some quick projects: pens.
Seems everyone can do them but everyone still loves them. I’ll add pictures of some oft favorites later but I can tell you from experience making large batches it not all the fun you might think it to be. I’ll post a picture in my next blog post and explain my experience. The picture I’m going to include in this post happened because I can’t throw things away. I don’t like to think of myself as a hoarder so I thing of it as being frugal, a recycler, or being innovative.
Working with some laminated pen blanks for the first time I approached it like a regular blank. When I tried to trim it, like any other solid blank, it split and chipped. Not being one to waste things I decided to laminate what I could together to try to salvage the material.
I don’t have a finished picture yet but I’ll get one soon. I enjoy using this pencil and it was an experience that finally lead me to try laminating leftovers to make a pen.
