So after a extra long break, im finally getting back in to the workshop. Boy what a great year I have planned for myself. Some new storage units on wheels, a few new machines I hope and a list of projects for far that will keep me busy for most weekends this year. And on top of all that I will be starting to advertise my work and take orders for items. I will hope to be doing that from a new look web site with online store for my gift range that im working on at my drawing board, plus I hope to get to a few markets and craft show this year along with the normal family and friend word of mouth. Also I hope to do a lot more writing and video blogging on my projects, updates on my shop and business.
So to kick of the year I thought ild easy my way back in to it and started off with a simple inlay in a serving board. The board was made for 25mm Merbau and had a Western Red Cedar Flower Inlayed.
The next project was to turn a few of the storage units in to mobile units with some welder steel frames and wheels. Also while I was going with the welding I added a self uniter my router table.
The next project was a entry door for a customer. This took me back to my days as an apprentice in a door and window factory. The unit was a fully solid timber door 55mm thick made from new guinea rosewood, had a self closing double action concealed closer fitted in the head of the frame.
So I know I started late this year but boy I cant wait for this year to get moving and I can get stuck in on a few more projects, one being a DVD storage unit for my mother.
So off to making saw dust for me….
