My daughter had enough of her crib and needed a real bed. Rails are ash. Legs are birch. Tenon & mortise joinery.

Was built off of a photo I’d seen somewhere. Footprint is 2.5’x8’. Has room for short (<4 feet) offcuts, long boards, and sheet good.

Built it together with my dad. Was a lot of fun!

After experimenting a little with covering plywood edges using hardwood recently, I faced the problem of how to make the hardwood edges flush with the plywood. I tried using my block plane, but that didn’t work out that well, so I looked up for a solution on the web. Here is the one I liked:

It wasn’t too hard to build, even for a novice like me, and it gave me a chance to practice some router skills.

This was my first project on my new table saw. I used half laps to join the rails with the stiles. My wife was responsible for the fabric, and I got a good excuse to buy myself a nail gun.

My first official jig built on the table saw, and for the table saw. Now I can make some tenons!
