I recently joined the Wood Whisperer Guild. If you’re unfamiliar with the Guild, it is a subscription-based group run by Marc Spagnuolo. They do “Guild Builds” three times a year (spring, summer, fall), and the current build is a chest of drawers. Marc posts videos detailing specific parts of the build, and he also has live Q&A and demos for the Guild members. Not quite like being in someone’s shop, but pretty close.

I’m almost ready to begin on the chest of drawers. In preparation, I ordered a Veritas dovetail saw and dovetail angle guides for building the drawers.

Hmmm… night stands or chest of drawers first?

i tried hand dovetailing recently and failed miserably in fact i had to pull out my jig to complete a few draws. i like quiet woodworking but i don’t excel at it..all the best though

Sounds like fun . Hope you enjoy. I built a dresser and night stand a piece for my two daughters last year for Christmas. It was a big project, but very rewarding.
