Yeah, that's how I stumbled on the fact there was a Shelix for the DW735, Google'n for knives I found that PDF last weekend so I contacted Byrd. $439 for the cutter head plus $18.75 X 2 for the bearings is pricey. I'll probably do it but when I use up the 2 packs of new knives and the one change left on the knives in the planer. No incentive to do it before then. I might have at the introductory price of $339 regardless, but not at this time.
What kind of p's me off is that I periodically went to their site and looked to see if they had one for the DW735 and they didn't list one. They still don't list it on their web page of cutter heads for planers, nor is it listed in their catalog. I looked again just this past weekend. So if they don't list it anywhere I have to wonder how was anybody supposed to know they had one AND the fact there was an introductory price??
Mark, I have to laugh at you're signature. I got serious about woodworking over 15 years ago now when I wanted to build a wine rack I designed so I started buying the machines and tools to do that. Still buying machines and tools, but haven't built that wine rack yet…
