Free Standing and/or Krenov Style Cabinets

Please help me…

A month or two ago I was looking at someones woodworking website who had dozens of free standing cabinets (sort-of in the Krenov style). I don’t know which website that was.

Do you know of any good websites that have lots of examples of these cabinets? I am looking for design ideas and inspiration. Please post links. Thanks!

By the way, one of my favorites is on Lumberjocks…

Blake I hadn’t seen the one that you posted. I like it also. I’ll have to look around and see what I can find. I’ve got a picture of a great cabinet front in my shop. I try and scan it in.

There’s no better place to go then to the man himself:
jameskrenov.com/default.htm

Or you could go to:

Or my personal favorite:

Hi Blake,

There are a number of galleries for the College of the Redwoods, where Krenov taught.
Here is a starting place:

Blake:

John Hein does a nice job with cabinets-on-stand: http://pluto.njcc.com/~jhein/open.html

Also, in addition to the College of the Redwoods page listed above, look at the Furniture Society website, as well as the Blue Sky Gallery website.

Regards, JM

Blake, I forgot to tell you about the Inside Passage School: http://www.insidepassage.ca/

Look through the archives for ‘Heart, Hand, & Eye’, their weekly newsletter.

Have you seen Phil’s album on his Krenov cabinet build? It starts here.

Blake;

A ran across the picture in the shop that I said that I’d post. It looks like its fron a book called “Building Doors and Drawers by Andy Rae published by Taunton.

I liked the case door. Reminds me of Krenov.

It turns out that John Hein lives about 10 miles from where i lived in NJ. Sorry I didn’t know him then.
