I have been trying to log on to the Woodwoker Shows web site for the last three days and it has been down. I am looking for information on the Dallas Show next week, are they still there? Mods, if this is the wrong place for this please feel free to move it.

Mounting a Vice - 1 reply
I have a quick question and not sure where to find the answer. I got my wife a Woodworkers Bench vice for her carving. I have never used, and definitely never installed, one of these. The workbench is a workhorse that I built about 35 years ago in my first garage. It is, as most are, I guess, built from a 2×4 stud frame covered with...

There goes the workbench! - 21 replies
I am not sure if this is good or not. My wife took a spoon carving class at the Homestead Heritage Woodworking School. Well she came home last night with a darn nice spatula, spoon, and Ladle. I was in the middle of cleaning up my shavings from spending the day at the lathe, with no “Honey Dos to do” so she joined me and I lost my work bench...

I love Crown Tools - 8 replies
About three weeks ago I was roughing out some bowls with my 5/8” Ellsworth gouge, I had a catch and the gouge snapped! It was 7 years old and I was extended from the rest a little long but, it sure surprised me. Do any of the carvers use a Worksharp? - 2 replies
My wife is starting to do some chip carving. She will go along fine and then stops for a few weeks. I asked her why and she said that she stops until she can buy a new sharp knife hers keep going dull. I checked the drawer in her bench and she has about 10 knives! I think it would be a LOT easier (and cheaper) to teach her to sharpen them but...

Anyone ever install a wood stove in the shop? - 33 replies
Last night the love of my life came home with a Franklin stove for the workshop. Here in Texas we only have about 6 weeks of winter but she evidently got tired of my bitching about being cold in the shop so she saw this stove and picked it up. My question is this; how hard is running a chimney pipe for a Franklin stove? I have a clear...

Lee Valley - 8 replies
Good Golly, I just tried to order two small Items from Lee Valley and the shipping wound up being 44% of the price of the items. That is ridiculous I guess I will have to look somewhere else. Does anyone know where I might get a Hex adapter for a yankee Screwdriver?

Work Sharp 2000 - 3 replies
Not to kick over another hornets nest but I was at my local Westlake Ace Hardware store and saw that they had the Work Sharp 2000 for $59.00 pick it up and walk out the door. I guess I should put pay for it before you walk out the door but…. Not as good a deal as the HD mess but no Muss no fuss, I am also not sure if all stores have the...
