I am recently retired (10/07) as a Vocational High School principal. I am doing some part time finish carpentry and beginning the process of building my own workshop. I always had the luxury of working in the cabinet shop at school. I can still work there, but want to have my shop at home for convenience.

Hello Bill,

Welcome to LJs. I hope that you will find this to be an exciting and rewarding part of your woodworking journey.

-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

Thanks for the welcome. I’ve been a wood worker for a long time, off and on. I am now retired and looking to “step it up” with new skills and building a home shop. I am speciffically going to work on my hand tool skills. I’m pretty good with machines, but know that to get really good requires excellent hand tool skills as well.

I’ve seen the work of some of the members and know I can get good advice and support here.

You’ll be hearing from me in the future.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
