I operate a lodge/resort on Georgian Bay, in Ontario Canada. I also operate a log salvage business, chasing down the logs that sank here 100 years ago.
We make furniture and crafts for sale in our little store, and operate a pub as well.
Since our place is rather old and was neglected by the previous owners, a lot of time and effort go into various renovations and improvements on the property here.
Lumberjocks is a very entertaining site and I quite enjoy the time I'ved spent here. I look forward to interacting with more members of the community.

UPDATE: June 21, 2010 - sadly, Sawmill Lodge is no more. The recession has finally killed our tourism-based business, and the bank has put the property into receivership. So that's it for me: time to go forth and restart my life.
All the best to all of you.
Rolfe

Welcome to Lumberjocks. They are a good group of people who love wood working as much as you do. “The End Of The Earth”, can’t say that I have ever been there. End of my rope a few times in my life. Glad to have you!

Thanks to all of you for your welcome. I’ve posted 4 projects so far, and I have literally got tons more images of the stuff we’ve made from our recycled/reclaimed/recovered timber. What I’m not sure of is how many of these things I should put up online; I can easily imagine how people might get tired of the stuff quickly.
Also, somebody suggested a blog about the recovery of the logs. Not sure how much interest this would get from the members here, so I’ll wait for more input.
Thanks again to all of you. I like this site/forum a lot.
