I recently purchased a PM1500 Powermatic Bandsaw. I set it up and everything was working fine. A couple of weeks later, I went to use it on a project and it wouldn’t turn on or start. I ck’d the manual and everything ck’s out. This machine has a magnet that controls the on switch that is supposedly for safety. I think this is my problem. I want to rewire the machine and bypass this feature which looks pretty straightforward from the wiring diagram in the manual. No one except myself uses my shop, so I don’t need the safety feature. I don’t want to buy a new switch since this machine is only about one month old and going thru the warrany sounds like a hassle. Anyone have a similar problem or have by passed the magnet safety switch before? Any suggestion would be appreciated.
