Challenges Roughing Acrylic Pen blank - 3 replies

Yesterday, I mounted my first acrylic pen blank on the lathe and set to it. I’ve done about 2 dozen pens thus far, and NONE of them, including hard maple and purpleheart, have been as much trouble to rough out as this acrylic blank. Split Top Roubo - End Cap Attachment - 1 reply

I am nearing the point of attaching my split top Roubo’s endcap. I will be installing a Benchcrafted Wagon vise, and using the End Cap Barrell nuts and a Condor Tail. My question is, do I also use an adhesive for attaching the Endcap? Need I worry about cross-grain movement?

Challenged by my ReiTech EasyStop - 2 replies

I’ve hit a snag getting my shop back in operation. My Delta Contractor’s Saw is equipped with a ReiTech EasyStop, one of the HONKIN BIG switches that also has a key lockout. Sorry if it seems I was ignoring y’all, but I’ve been out of town taking #1 Son around on some seminary visits.
