This is a small pic of my latest addition to my shop, a 6 foot lathe, complete with accessories and tools (the red box in the front), all for $60 Cdn! The previous owner was moving to the west coast and figured it’d be cheaper to sell it and buy another out there than to have it crated and moved (it weighs about 150 pounds) and was in a rush as his move was fast approaching. The photo is from his ad. Nice machine and it works great. All I have to do is build a stand for it and it’s off to turning town!

Tiny, that is a nice looking lathe that you have added to your shop. I am sure you are going to have fun with it. A lathe is high on my wish list and I would put one in my shop if my wife would give me an advance on my allowance. :)

How about posting some pictures of the rest of your shop when you get the chance?

Thanks for the encouragement guys. As for the rest of my “shop”, it’s a cramped corner of the rec room right now. Nothing much to see. If I want to use something, I have to move three other things to get to it.
My power tool list includes, that lathe, an inexpensive tablesaw, a tabletop router table, tabletop drill press, tabletop bandsaw and tabletop scrollsaw. Now if I only had a table… ;)

Big Tiny, I’m 60 now and I didn’t even have a personal shop until I closed the open carport in 5 or 6 years ago. I worked on the carport, the driveway, and in the yard under my favorite oak tree. Sometimes when it was real cold I worked in my wife’s kitchen – mostly just carving whenever I did that. You’ll get to where you want to be.
